Terms & Conditions

All pupils should note that by booking driving lessons with Target Driving School confirms that you have read & agree to the following terms & conditions.

Lesson Criteria

In order to have driving lessons with Target Driving School you must:

  • Be aged 17 or older (16 or over if disabled)
  • Hold a driving licence that is valid for the UK
  • Please note. Learner drivers are responsible for keeping the DVLA up to date with any changes that may affect your provisional licence. Your driving test may be cancelled if your provisional licence details are incorrect. Target Driving School will not be held liable for any cost in test fees should this happen.

It is your responsibility to provide your instructor with proof that you have a valid licence to drive before the commencement of your first driving lesson. If you fail to provide this proof, your instructor is entitled to refuse to conduct the driving lesson and may still charge you for such driving lesson.

Payment

You can pay for lessons by paying your instructor directly. Your instructor will confirm which payment methods they can accept. When paying your instructor directly you can (if required) obtain a receipt. All driving lessons or any block bookings must be paid in full before lessons commence.

Refund Policy

If you decide you no longer wish to continue having driving lessons with Target Driving School, we will refund the balance of any remaining lessons that have been pre-paid *subject to customer adhering to Target Driving School terms & conditions and within 6 months of the date of original payment being made.

Any breach of terms & conditions may result in loss of any remaining monies being refunded. Refunds are subject to a £25 admin fee.

Funds paid to Target Driving School for prepaid driving lessons to be provided by your instructor must be applied to driving lessons by you within 6 months of the date of your original payment to Target Driving School. You acknowledge that after the expiry of this 6-month period, you will not be entitled to a refund of any remaining funds not applied to driving lessons or to utilise these funds for booking further driving lessons.

Gift vouchers must be booked within 6 months of the date of purchase. If, at any point during this 6-month period you decide that you no longer wish to take any more of your prepaid driving lessons, you are entitled to a refund of the balance of your funds *subject to customer adhering to Target Driving School terms & conditions.

To request a refund, please contact Target Driving School. Refunds are subject to a £25 admin fee.

Booking Lessons

You and your instructor are responsible for agreeing such matters as date, timing, location and duration of individual driving lessons. It is your responsibility to remember the date and time of your booking. It is not your instructor's responsibility to contact you to remind you of any such booking.

You must notify your instructor of any matters existing at any time that may affect your ability or entitlement to have driving lessons, for example, but not limited to, any lack or loss of a valid driving licence or any health issues that could affect or prevent you from driving.

Your instructor cannot guarantee that they will be available each time you choose to request a driving lesson. Lessons are booked on a first come first served basis.

Prices may change from time to time. Any block bookings purchased prior to such a change will be delivered at the price originally paid. Hourly paid lessons will then be increased accordingly.

Cancellation Policy

You must give at least 24 hours' notice directly to your instructor if you wish to cancel or reschedule a booked driving lesson. Failure to do so may result in your instructor charging you the full amount for the time booked and allocated for that lesson.

Any disputed transaction will be promptly and fully investigated by Target Driving School.

Lateness

Target Driving School encourages all pupils to be on time for their driving lessons. The instructor will allow 5 minutes after the lesson start time for lateness. Any more than this and the lesson will be considered to have been cancelled and you will be liable for the cost of the lesson. Please contact your instructor directly if you are running late.

Should your instructor be running late. Where possible, your instructor will make up any lost time at the end of the lesson or make arrangement to include the lost time into a future lesson. Your instructor will try to inform you of any planned lateness but this is not always possible.

If you have made a block booking. The time booked for such lesson will be deducted from your block booking. If you are late for your driving lesson this time will deducted from your planned lesson time. No additional time will be included to the lesson to make up for you being late.

Transferring Prepaid Lessons

You cannot sell or transfer driving lessons which have been purchased in your name to any other person.

Liability

Your instructor or Target Driving School will not be held liable for any loss or damage to personal property brought into or left behind in the training vehicle. Target Driving School / Instructor will return any lost property if found but will not be held liable towards any damage or irregularities.

Drugs & Alcohol

Target Driving School has a zero-tolerance policy on any pupil found to be under or suspected to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Should your instructor suspect you to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol you will be immediately dropped off and charged for the lesson.

If you are taking prescription medication, please check with your doctor before you commence your driving lesson. It is your legal responsibility to ensure you are fit to drive.

Unforeseen Circumstances

Target Driving School will not be held responsible for driving lessons cancelled due to government restrictions, bad weather, mechanical failure, accidents involving the tuition car, traffic delays or instructor illness. In such circumstances, driving lessons will be rescheduled for a later date.

Should an unforeseen event happen to take place on the day of a booked driving test. Target Driving School will always try to find a reasonable solution to ensure that the booked driving test takes place. However, if this does not suit the pupil or there are no other alternatives available. Target Driving School will not be held liable for any loss of driving test fees.

Intensive Driving Courses

Driving Tests are booked directly with the pupil. Target Driving School will not be held responsible should the driving test date be cancelled, rescheduled or if you make any errors when booking or informing your instructor of the date, time or location of the driving test.

Intensive driving courses booked with Target Driving School must be paid in full 5 days prior to course start date. Intensive driving courses require you're driving instructor to clear their diary and allocate that time directly to you. Cancellation of an intensive driving course can be done no later than 48 hours prior to course commencement. Refunds are subject to a £25 admin fee. After such time no refunds will be issued.

If a pupil wishes to cancel an intensive driving course after 48 hours before the course is due to commence or during any part of the course. Under no circumstance will any refunds be issued.

Target Driving School will not guarantee any pupil any such thing as a guaranteed pass with regards to driving tests. Target Driving School reserves the right to refuse to present any pupil for a driving test should the pupil fail to reach a satisfactory standard of driving. You have the option to pay for additional training to reach this standard but sometimes there might not be enough time to complete this before the date of the driving test.

Target Driving School will not be held responsible should you fail reach a satisfactory standard of driving required to complete a driving test.

Driving Test

Target Driving School will not be responsible for such matters as booking, cancelling or rescheduling driving tests. Target Driving School will advise pupils on when to book a driving test.

Pupils should not book a driving test unless advised to. Pupils should liaise with instructor prior to booking a driving test to ensure instructor availability for test.

Target Driving School reserves the right to refuse to present any pupil for a driving test should the pupil fail to reach a satisfactory standard of driving required to pass a driving test.

Target Driving School will not be held liable for any cost in loss of test fees should any unforseen event prevent you from attending your booked driving test.

Target Driving School will not be held responsible for any driving test being cancelled by the DVSA. See www.gov.uk for all terms & conditions.
